Vanaspati / Hydrogenation Plants

Vanaspati / Hydrogenation Plants

Servotech, the leading Hydrogenator manufacturer, has exclusive technology to construct unique industrial oil plants linked to a hydrogenation gas generation system.

The electrolysis of water produces hydrogen gas in this arrangement. The gas is compressed for use in the hydrogenation reaction in storage cylinders with high pressure, from which it is taken for use in the processing vanaspati plant.

Vanaspati is a wholly or partially hydrogenated vegetable cooking oil commonly used as a substitute for ghee due to its low cost. Our competence is in designing and manufacturing high-tech vanaspati facilities for comprehensive oil processing and production. Vanaspati is used to prepare meals or as a raw material in the production of soap.

We have a proven track record in the business, having installed 50-tonne plants in Bihar, 25-tonne plants in Gujarat, a 25-tonne plant in Don-E-Salaam, and a 15-tonne plant in Karnataka.

Features

  • There is no hydrogen gas waste, and the catalyst is nickel.
  • Low energy usage
  • Continuous bleaching, neutralization, deodorization, along with post bleaching and post neutralization sections
  • Process conditions have been optimized to ensure adequate selectivity and product consistency.

Process Description For Continuos Vanaspati / Hydrogenation Plants

Hydrogenation raises the melting point of vegetable oils, which have very low melting points to around 36 degrees Celsius, close to human body temperature.

Hydrogenated oils that are ordinarily solid liquefy at human body temperature, and because of this feature, hydrogenated oils have a longer shelf life. They are frequently utilized in various foods such as snacks, bakery products, and desserts.

In general, all oils include both unsaturated and saturated fatty acids. When hydrogen is added, unsaturated acids are transformed into saturated fats, lowering the overall iodine value. Finally, at a lower temperature, the hydrogenated oil solidifies.

The complete hydrogenation or vanaspati plant process is carried out in pressurized batch tanks. The oil to be hydrogenated is heated and takes place with a nickel catalyst present.

After hydrogenation, the catalyst is recovered for re-use by filtering hydrogenated oil through plate and frame filter presses.

The hydrogenation process ensures that no oil is lost since the hydrogen provided compensates for the oil loss caused by the catalyst.
